| SWEET
BODY OF DEBORAH, THE
A.k.a. IL DOLCE CORPO DI DEBORAH. Starring Carroll Baker, Jean
Sorel, Evelyn Stewart, Luigi Pistilli, Michel Bardinet and George
Hilton. Written by Ernesto Gastaldi and Luciano Martino. The
screenplay by Ernesto Gastaloi (writer of such masterpieces
as TORSO, SO SWEET SO PERVERSE, THE VIRGIN OF NUREMBERG, THE
WHIP AND THE BODY, THE HORRIBLE DOCTOR HICHCOCK) is top notch
with ample twists and turns to keep you totally confused and
confounded. An intricate scheme by Sorel to kill his wife, Baker,
backfires when she develops her own plan with the next-door
neighbor to kill Sorel. All of this plotting is an attempt to
collect insurance money, allowing for lots of gore and the chance
to show off Baker's hot body. This film is most notable for
its great cast, who all turn in excellent performances. An Italian-French
co-production directed by Romolo Guerrieri, also known
for his Euro-westerns JOHNNY YUMA and 10,000 DOLLARS BLOOD
MONEY. (1969) In English.
