| THE
FIVE DAYS OF MILAN
A.k.a. LE CINQUE GIORNATE. One of director Dario Argento’s
least seen, but most entertaining, films shot in the style of THE
WILD BUNCH with much blood, violence and comedy. Adriano Celentano
and Enzo Cerusico star as two misfits thrown together during a revolution
in Italy in 1848. After a series of comedic adventures, they become
the best of friends as comedy turns to tragedy, as we see that in
life there is no honor among those we believed to be heroes and
leaders. A highly enjoyable film packed with odd caricatures and
highlighted by some enormously enjoyable humor and eccentric characterizations
by the two leads. Argento and writing partner Luigi Cossi’s
style was a big change from previous works and can be said to best
resemble Dario’s work on ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST. Photographed
