Following the discovery of an unidentifiable young woman's body (her face has been horribly mutilated) on the beach, the police, aided by retired detective Ray Milland, try to unravel the events that led to her death. Directed with much care by former art director Flavio Mogherini, this thriller is an assured attempt to transpose giallo elements into a different setting.
