In this horror film, Lino Capolicchio stars as a painter hired to restore a church fresco in a remote village. The fresco is a frightening depiction of St. Sebastian's gory demise, and the original painter is revealed to have been a death-crazed madman. Capolicchio learns from the locals that the painter murdered people for art, then committed suicide. Everyone in the village is afraid to tell Capolicchio about him, and those who do are soon murdered themselves. This compelling film contains many striking visuals and the final scean is one of the more unusual endings in modern horror cinema. Also starring Gianni Cavina, Francesca Marciano, Giulio Pizzirani.
